How to ensure your wallpapers are installed correctly?

Preparation of Surface

Before installing the wallpaper, make sure that the wall is smooth, even, solid and absolutely dry. Remove the old wallpaper, paint or whitewash perfectly and especially any traces of ink, pencil or crayon marks. Fill up holes and smooth down cracks so that the installation can be super perfect.

Pattern

While installing the wallpaper, the product numbers are of huge importance. You should have wallpaper rolls with same production number. This will ensure that colours and patterns would match perfectly. Also check the quality of the wallpaper roll before start cutting them.

Cutting of wallpapers

When you plan to install patterned wallpaper, then make sure that the design matches correctly. The information is given on the back of the wallpaper roll. This information should be checked before cutting the wallpapers. Before the installation of the wallpapers, cut the strips neatly.

Adhesive

For pasting the wallpapers on the wall. Always use a super high quality adhesive. After all pasting the wallpaper is the most important aspect of the entire process. Ensure that the glue has a smooth consistency and is mixed well. Just read the instruction carefully that where do you need to apply the glue, on the wall or on the wallpaper. This is also a very important and not to be missed direction in the process of wall paper installation.

Hanging

Now this is very crucial. Install the wallpaper on the wall and use the smooth glue to move them to match the patterns perfectly. Always use a smooth brush or roller for this. Steam rollers shall be avoided completely. You can neatly remove the extra glue with a help of a damp sponge or cloth.

Post Installation

Just after installation, do not touch the wallpaper again and again. Infect you should not touch the wallpaper for at least 2 days after installation. Getting some air bubbles here and there is just normal. They will dry down on their own and if not you can remove them with a help of brush or a roller. After a week of installation, check the edges of the wallpaper. Sometimes they tend to become loose. You can use some glue to paste them again.
